Staff Member: Christine Meyer
I was born in Milwaukee, attended Blessed Sacrament School and Our Lady of Mercy High School. During my high school years I marched in the Our Lady of Mercy and St. Matthias Drum and Bugle Corps. After high school I had a number of different jobs working in the credit industry, working at a bank and then retail.
In 1979 my first husband and I moved to Coos Bay Oregon and fortunately in 1986 we moved to Portland, the big city! I have worked for nonprofit organizations for over 25 years. I have served on board for nonprofit organizations and served for two years as the President of the Pittock Mansion Society and several years as a commissioner on the Archbishop’s Historical Commission. After living in Oregon for 35 years, my second husband, Wes and I moved back to Milwaukee in November of 2014. Our primary motivation for the move was to be closer to our families, mine here in Milwaukee and Wes’ in Nebraska.
My last position in Oregon was working as the Church Administrator for the First United Methodist Church in Portland for over 8 years. For most of my life I have had part-time jobs in addition to a full time position, most recently I served for several years at the wedding coordinator for The Grotto, the National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother in Portland and worked as a sales clerk in the gift shop at the Washington Park Rose Garden.
In my spare time I like to cross-stitch and read historical novels. I’m interested in old homes and an ice skating fan.
